SIDF Crowned the Winners in the Second Industrial Hackathon

"His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Chairman of SIDF, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, and H.H the CEO of SIDF, Prince Sultan bin Khalid Al Saud, crowned the winners of the second edition of the ""Industrial Hackathon 2023"". The Hackathon was organized by SIDF to offer tremendous opportunities to the participants which will eventually contribute to the growth of the industrial sectors by providing innovative solutions to the challenges facing national manufacturers through three tracks: Design, Production, and Sustainability.
In the design track, the team that won first place is PSU Industry 4.0, while the team that came in second is THROUGH. In the production track, the team that won first place is BRDAN, while the team that came in second place is Minkhal. As for the sustainability track, the team that won first place is HEXA, and the team that won second place is E-VIVE. Additionally, the team of RedNest was able to present the best solution to the challenge posed by Red Sea Global in the hackathon.
The first-place teams received a prize of 50,000 SAR per team, while the second-place teams received a prize of 35,000 SAR per team. Red Sea Global awarded a prize of 25,000 SAR to the team that prevailed in the competition.
His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to all the participating teams on this occasion and urged them to continue their innovative idea, and valuable contributions to enhancing the competitiveness of the national industry and overcoming its challenges. Moreover, the minister expressed his sincere gratitude to all supporting entities from both public and private sectors.
H.E emphasized that the second edition of the Industrial Hackathon reflects the continuous commitment of SIDF to supporting local manufacturers and enhancing the values of innovation and creativity that are fundamental to the development of the industrial sector. The Industrial Hackathon is an important step in fostering and supporting innovators, as it is one of the distinguished platforms that bring together talents and creative ideas in various fields and diverse industrial challenges. He pointed out that the idea of the hackathon is to provide support to national companies and factories by innovating creative solutions to the challenges faced by manufacturers, contributing to the development and enhancement of national products, and elevating their attractiveness both locally and globally.
HE expressed that the idea of the Industrial Hackathon is also a great opportunity to discover the creative potential in Saudi society, which can be further harnessed to achieve the objectives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Industrial Strategy.
It is worth mentioning that the total prizes for the second edition of the ""Industrial Hackathon"" amounted to over one million SAR, distributed among the winners and participants. This edition was held in partnership with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology as an innovation partner, Riyadh Bank as a financial partner, and Sipchem as a platinum sponsor."
